July-2006 Mid-East Dilemma
So here we are again, about 2 weeks into the latest Israeli vs. [fill in the blank] dilemma. While I've generally thought all along that Israel has been defending its own territory, this time it's different, and here's why; they've already given up all they can. It doesn't matter if you think any of the previous "negotiations" were honest or not. At this point what would Israel have to give up for some kind of peace? Any suggestions?? The actual fact of the matter is that Hezbollah, and for that matter almost all of the Arab entities, would love to see Israel eliminated from the map and that's the end of that story. Get used to it.
So what's going to happen here? We've all seen it before. The U.N.'s Kofi "I can't recognize a genocide even when I can see one" Anon wants a cease fire. Europe, doing their best imitation of "Hogan's Heroes" Sgt. Schultz ("I Know Nothing!!"), wants a cease fire. I ask, to what end? So Hezbollah can rearm? Are any of these "diplomats" thinking that Hezbollah would peacefully co-exist with Israel under any circumstances? Actually they might be thinking just that, because they're hopeless idiots.
So what about poor, poor heavily bombed country of Lebanon? Victims. How can that destruction and killing of Lebanese civilians ever be justified? Easy. Another idiot, Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora, told Condollezza Rice that the Israeli offensive was taking his country "backward 50 years". Yup, it's a quote! That would be 1956. How would he be able to tell? Easy again. It's nothing new because it's always been like that, and until the populace decides to really get a grip on the 21st century, it will continue to be always like that. Lebanon has been a focal point for Islamic terrorism for decades, and now they are paying the price. Hezbollah in the Cabinet, and Hezbolla having a substantial role in the legislature? How did that happen, you Lebanese citizens? Wasn't it you that made that your reality? Aren't you responsible for your vote?
Of course not. Nobody should ever be held responsible for their vote. That would be some kind of discrimination, or something like that. True in this country too. The "I just don't want to think about it" crowd still swoons over Al Gore and John Kerry. One wonders what the world would be like with either on of those idiots in charge. Al "I can't be bothered with terrorism because of 'Global Warming'" Gore, are the dropping of all those bombs on terrorists contributing to "Global Warming"? John "I voted for it, before I voted against it" Kerry, have you ever had a thought you could believe in?
Weeks from now, I'd like to see Israel in a situation where they could say that Hezbollah was in a situation that had no clout. Crippled. That would mean that Syria had less clout. It would also mean that Iran had less clout. I think that an Iran with less clout would be a very good thing for the entire world. But hey, that's just me.
just a thought. bill brower, 24-Jul-2006
